First Week Down!

Well, I have completed my first full week with the American Cancer Society. The verdict? I'm enamored! Everyone I have met has been so incredibly welcoming, friendly, and amazing. I know that I have a lot to learn and a long way to go to master my new gig, but I am so motivated and ready!

For the first time in my life, I have a REAL office. With a professional desk. And file cabinets. And windows...BEAUTIFUL, FABULOUS windows! It's very bare bones right now, but I did hit up Ikea for round one of Operation: Outstanding Office. Let me just say that there is some pretty serious office decor competition going on in my building. I have a long way to go, but darn it - it will be AMAZING! So far I grabbed some picture frames and some plants to add a little pizzazz.

I have a rust orange accent wall, so I was thinking I wanted a bright and funky color palette:

Here are a few pics of my very empty, very naked space - pre-decoration and pre-furnite moving around:

This is the gorgeous view from my window. I peer into the courtyard - and I just have to say, I am in love with working downtown. So much action going on and so many great places to explore!

Here are some of the fun ideas I have found on Pinterest and all around the web to make my space even more "me":

DIY Canvas Drip Painting - found at Take the Side Street

I have an awesome accent wall that is just DYING for some gorgeous, colorful art! I love this idea and the tutorial makes it look super easy!
Paper Lanters

My name is Julie and I am a paper lantern addict. Love, love, LOVE these for a fun pop of color!
Circle Garland - Etsy shop Transparent Es Decor

I have a glass panel in my office door. I think these would be a great way to add some fun, but also add a little privacy!

I can't wait to show you all my decor updates as they go! This is definitely going to be a project - I figure I'll add a few new items every few weeks until it's completed.
I would love any fun decor suggestions from my awesome readers! What fun decorating ideas would you try if you had a blank office to decorate?

  1. So glad you've settled into your new job. I think a job with the ACS would be awesome, considering how much its impacted my family's life. Can't wait to see how the rest of your decorating goes :)
