Exciting News!

For the better part of a decade, I have spent my days in the dental industry. From the second I started at my first dental job, I have been been enamored. I loved almost everything about it - meeting new patients, learning all about fascinating procedures, assisting in the occasional procedure, and learning everything there is to know (and probably a little more) and the dental insurance industry. I have spent 40 hours a week with people I love doing something I truly enjoy...what more can you ask for?

Well, a few weeks ago, an opportunity presented itself. An opportunity that I just couldn't pass up. And while it will be difficult to say goodbye to my wonderful co-workers and patients, I am absolutely thrilled to have been offered a position where I get to spend my days helping to fight a terrible disease that I have unfortunately become far too familiar with. I am humbled, honored, and excited to be able to say that in a week's time, I will be starting my new career with the American Cancer Society.

I hope that I can make a difference. I hope that someday cancer will never have to affect anyone the way it has affected me and my family. And I hope that my dad and father-in-law are looking down and are proud of my next step. Here's to an amazing new start - fighting cancer and making a difference!

  2. While I'm still pursuing my teaching career, a part of me has considered looking into the ACS for a job as my mom, unfortunately, did not beat her battle. I'd love to help others so I may just start looking more. Best of luck with your new job!

Stopping by from Mingle Monday :)
