Nashville: Tasty Eats Edition

I'm not going to lie - I'm still in a little bit of a vacation hangover. You know, that thing that happens when you come back to reality and everything is in a bit of a fog. I swear, I need a vacation to recover from my vacation!

While we had a ton of great experiences in Nashville, one of the biggest highlights was the food. G and I absolutely love trying out new restaurants, and we were not disappointed in what we found. From casual coffee shops to amazing steakhouses, we tried it all! I can honestly tell you that I went up at least a jean size - and it was absolutely worth EVERY. SINGLE. BITE.

If you know me at all, you know that I am a breakfast fanatic. I would eat waffles, eggs, pancakes, and cereal for every meal if given the opportunity! Of course, I found a few breakfast places in Nashville that I was super excited to try.

The Frothy Monkey is a fun, eclectic coffee shop with more than your average "coffee house" fare. Sure, you can find some delicious muffins, bagels, and scones - but the sandwiches, breakfast platters, and salads are phenomenal! And the coffee...oh, goodness! The beautiful mug you see below is a Monkey Mocha - which is a mocha with a shot of banana syrup. Sounds strange, tastes absolutely fabulous!

I also fell in love with another coffee shop called The Perch. It's a quaint, adorable little place - very unassuming. But their coffee is stellar, crepes are delish, and waffles are light, sweet, and fluffy! Lucky for us, it was a gorgeous day to sit on their outdoor patio and enjoy the sun and breeze!

Getting away from my favorite food group of breakfast, I need to make a detour to my other favorite food group - candy! On Broadway Street in downtown Nashville sits a shop that will make your eyes well up with tears on sight! Forget Disney World...Savannah's Candy Kitchen is, quite possibly, the most magical place on Earth. Every type of candy you can name, you can probably find. You also get to try a free praline when you walk in the door. I had never discovered these tasty little morsels before, but it didn't take long for me to fall in love!

See that gorgeous caramel apple covered in colorful sprinkles in the back left corner? Yeah. That definitely went into my belly! And I definitely needed a few Tums afterwards.

Ultimate verdict: Nashville is DELICIOUS!
