Boo Bags - Have You Been "Boo'd"?

It's entirely possible that I have been WAY out of the loop for the past few years, but I recently heard about this fantastic little idea called "Boo Bags". My friend Tricia was the first one to tell me about this and ever since I have been thinking of creative ways to partake in this cute tradition!

Boo Bags contain the following:
- Goodies, candy, treats, or other fun and festive gift items
- A "You've Been Boo'd" letter or poem
- A "I Have Been Boo'd" sign for their door
- A step by step directions guide (optional)

The rules are pretty straight forward - you choose two houses in your neighborhood to "boo", or drop off a gift of treats, goodies, and/or fun festive holiday items to celebrate the season...secretly, of course! Part of the fun is not knowing who "boo'd" whose houses! Once a person has received a fun, fall gift, they place the "I Have Been Boo'd" sign (which is part of the "Boo Bag") outside their door so that others in the neighborhood know that they have already received a gift. Next, it's their turn to choose 2 new houses...and the fun continues!

There are so many great ideas out there! Here are some of my favs:

I love the idea of using a bucket instead of a bag - I found this cute little creation at Happy Life Crafty Wife's blog

Who doesn't love a spooky s'more kit?
If you don't have a festive bag handy, you can make your own spider container out of paper plates - genius!
Witch legs are always a hit!
Who doesn't adore burlap? Find out how to make these at Live Laugh Rowe's blog
Many of the Boo Bag directions will specify that you must "boo" the next person within 2 days. I don't know about you, but I think that is a little too much of a time crunch! This game is supposed to be fun, not stressful. My plan is to start it in the next few days and state on my directions page to "boo" the next 2 people by Halloween.

Above you'll see that I decided to make up my own poem printout and door sign - please feel free to use them and start the Boo Bag tradition in your neighborhood or workplace! Just click on each picture to get the full size dowload!

Happy "Booing", Friends!
